VENTURE GROUPS
Praying With One Another
While most small groups pray together when they gather, it's easy to get stuck in a prayer rut in which every week looks the same. Varying your rhythms of prayer in your gatherings can create fresh moments of life with one another and with the Holy Spirit, and different kinds of prayer can yield different kinds of engagement.
General Group Prayer
The default method of prayer for many group gatherings, this method involves having one individual pray for the entire group in a general way. Asking different people to lead this kind of prayer is a helpful way of engaging more people and hearing about what they value in the group (through the words of their prayers).
Individual Requests
This tried-and-true group method of prayer involves everyone sharing their prayer requests with the entire group. Emphasis on this time should be on the spiritual lives of the people in your group. Though the health issues of their loved ones are important, they are often shared as deflection tool to not share personally and vulnerably what is going on with them.
Sub-Grouped Prayer
You can split into many different sub-groups for prayer, which encourages greater levels of vulnerability the fewer there are in each group. Common sub-groups are men/women, couples (either with a spouse or someone of the same gender), or accountability triads or quads.
Prayer Experience
We are working to offer a variety of 1-2 hour long prayer experiences that would last for most of your gathering. Currently we have the full copy of the Rooted prayer experience linked above, even if you haven't gone through Rooted or have gone through it a dozen times.
