Praying For God's Mission

Though there are many ways to describe the mission of God, he ultimately is trying to reconcile all people to himself. That work takes place globally as well as in individual human hearts (and everything in between). We are invited to join with God in his mission by both praying about and then participating in reconciling work.

The global community of Christians (the Church) addresses problems as diverse as the eight billion people on our planet. While by no means an exhaustive list of everyone doing excellent work globally, Venture's missions partners are a great group of people for whom to start praying. Scroll to the bottom of the linked page to find more information about each global partner.

God designed the global Church to contain local manifestations of this new covenant community. Venture is one such local church, and we are called to pray for it. Some ways to pray for Venture using the website: pray for our ministries individually and the people involved with them, pray for our staff, pray for our preschool, pray for upcoming events, and pray for people to take next steps of faith.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Area contains over 2.1 million people, and our local missions partners are working to engage them in a variety of ways that ultimately point them to Jesus. Venture's specific partners can be found toward the bottom of the linked page, and you can join many other great organizations throughout the area as a partner in prayer.

As we move down the list of praying for God's mission, we get smaller and smaller. Global, Indy Metro, our church, and now the individuals that God is trying to reach through our people. The shepherd left the 99 sheep to go find the lost one. We are invited to participate in this process with the Spirit by faithfully praying for and obeying his promptings to engage our ONES.
